TFMA Bylaws
TOPEKA FACILITY MANAGERS’ ASSOCIATION BYLAWS
Objective:
To establish a forum where Topeka Facility Managers can meet on a regular basis to share information and ideas.
Membership:
Membership shall be open to company representatives who have decision-making responsibilities for operating and maintaining commercial buildings, apartments, schools, plants, office buildings, etc. Membership shall also be open to representatives of organizations that provide professional and/or consulting services for a fee, manufacturers, vendors, and dealers/distributors of facility related products and services.
Annual Dues will be $110 per company. Each company may send any number of representatives to Association meetings. In any voting situation, each company/firm may cast only one vote.
Membership may be applied for by submitting a membership application to any member of the Executive Committee. The membership year shall be January 1 through December 31st. Organizations applying for initial membership during the first six months of the membership year shall pay full-year membership dues. Those organizations applying for initial membership during the second six months of the membership year shall pay one-half of the first year’s membership dues.
The Executive Committee will approve membership applications. Any interpretation of the membership guidelines will be determined by a voting majority of the Executive Committee.
Executive Committee:
The Executive Committee will consist of the President, past president, VP, Secretary/treasurer, membership chairperson, communications chair, and programs chair. Elections for these officers will be held on an annual basis.
The Executive Committee shall be responsible for overseeing Association operations, membership approvals, programming, financial matters, communications, and other business necessary to support the Association’s objective.
General:
The Bylaws may be changed by a voting majority of the general membership.
This Association is non-political and will not participate in political activity or endorse political candidates.
Membership is not restricted due to nationality, race, age, sex, or religious beliefs.
